Supertrickler Import Fees

I am considering whether it's smarter to buy a Supertrickler direct from the manufacturer or from a USA distributor. The price is less from the manufacturer, but I can't tell how much would be added for import fees/tariffs. I emailed the manufacturer, but I suspect they don't know and will just repeat what's on their website - that I'm responsible for the fees.

Have any of you recently bought a Supertrickler directly from the manufacturer? If so, how much were the added fees?

I would think that the ~$150 you’d be saving before the shipping/tariff fees would disappear pretty quick. It may be worth being able to deal with a US distributor if you have issues rather than oversees supplier. Not sure if any may have on a Black Friday deal but may be worth checking…..

One remark I remember from Supertrickler in the beginning, that turned me away from buying it, was that he was asked about warranty labour reimbursement thru a US dealer, and would not comment on it, said to talk to the US dealer, he would not discuss it. Which being as he didn't yet have a dealer at the time, kinda turned me off. Seemed to think covering labour was a state secret, which I suspect turned off anyone with any brains, that wanted to be a dealer for it. All he had to say was yes, it's covered, or no, it isn't. I quit watching the FB page after that, as that kind of response was a no go for me.

I have one, and have it working well… it even went to the US repair guy with no charge to me.. but given the newer options available or supposedly available soon, I don’t know that I would buy now especially with a tariff premium.

I’ve recently been really curious about the SupweTrickler too. I currently have a V4 and FX120i on order so that’s for sure happening. I’m also on the list for the IP system (not so much of a sure thing). I did however swindle a pretty sick deal on another scale from eBay last night though (FX-300iN) so it’s possible I might add a second system to compare and contrast with the incoming V4.

One thing that really swayed me in the direction of buying a V4 over an ST was just the complete and apparent transparency of Adam MacDonald regarding all the design and manufacturing characteristics of that system. He seems readily available, and wanting, to personally handle issues for his customers. That is awesome. Plus I really like the design and execution of the V4. Seems pretty smartly done.

Regarding a SuperTricker though. It does still intrigue me. I’m curious has anyone opened one up to see what’s inside? I’d love to know what magic sorcery is happening in there, but I cannot find any real details online about its design and construction specifics. The “mystery” of that machine, coupled with the fact that it’s a 100% overseas product (for US customers) gives me pause. Not to mention its high price too. Still though.. what it does is cool.

I agree, Adam's transparency is superb. He's happy to help with our club's Shotmarkers, I anticipate the same with my just ordered V4.

Regarding my post above, this is what CE Products says about tariffs on the Autotrickler Combo:

"To avoid any tariff charges, duties or customs clearance fees we export all US bound orders together and prepare our paperwork in house - saving you money and ensuring no surprises on delivery!"

Contrast that to the predictable but useless reply from Supertrickler:

"I have no idea. We ship to more than 20 different countries, and it’s impossible to know tariffs for each country."
