Probably mostly of interest to match shooters, so I'm posting in the Competition section.
There are a few ranges around that have an easterly or westerly direction that can cause scope glare issues early or late in the day. In my area that would be Deep Creek, Douglas Ridge, Butte, and Cascade. A lot of factory scopes offer shades, but for kinda steep prices for what they are. Most attach to the super fine internal threads that are far too easy to cross. I've been making up some printed ones with an external clamp fit. I have them for the service rifle offerings for Leupold, Vortex, WOA, Nightforce, Leapers, and Athlon.
