Sunday 10/5/2014 North West Ohio Benchrest Shooters match!

On Sunday 10/5/2014 the NWOBRS next match (This is the old Liepsic match that Fred Sinclair started long time ago.) will take place at Black Swamp rifle and pistol club in Delphos Ohio.(24669 Pohlman Road Delphos, OH 45833) Gates open at 10:00 am, there will be a practice session before the match, the match will start at 12 noon. This is will a 5 target agg 200 yard group match. 3 available class: Factory, Factory Modified, and open. Open class rule follow NBRSA/IBS heavy varmint rules. Cost for match is $15.00 and there is a pay out for top three finishers, and a 1 shot takes all closest to center shot. Come out and join the fun. This is the annual "Hot Dog" day where the club will proved hotdogs, shooters are encouraged to bring a covered dish, You don't have to bring anything there will be plenty to eat, but if you wish to contribute it would be appreciated.

Sunday is fast approaching. The first match usually has a big turn out, and some great shooters.

I was planning on attending some of the matches this year. Stopped by last year and spoke to some of the shooters. Some of them had said that they used to shoot 30BR. I see the rules prohibit 30 Cal and above. I think this will be a live and learn thing as I bought a 30BR.

I believe I remember seeing and talking to you and a friend you brought last year. We was all hope to see you all come and participate. Just to clear something up, your miss interpreting the rules. The rules say "less than 30 cal." Meaning you can shoot a 30 cal just nothing bigger, for example a 338. We have had shooters in the past shoot 30BRs and they did well. (Something to consider is rules poster are very old and for score shoots. I posted them just for the description of the classes.) This is a great match to learn at, and a friendly atmosphere. Most fellows "pre-load" for the match, you will need 26 rounds for record, and what ever you would like for sighters. I recommend bringing at least 50 rounds. But as you seen there is plenty of room to load there.

Next match is in 2 weeks. We sure hope to see you there.

If you want to say 30s are allowed, but nothing larger, you might want to change he rule to say "nothing larger than 30 caliber".

Also, your schedule in the bottom of he post says 200 yards but the post itself says 100. Which is it?

This is not my wording. It is how it was worded from years ago.
This moth is 200 yards, and yes 30 cals are aloud.
So come out and join the fun.

Well, from what I hear tomorrow is going to be a repeated of todays weather. Right now it is sunny, and hardly a cloud in the sky, around 56 degrees, and wind is light to moderate. Delphos's rang is fairly guarded, with a woods to the left, and high berms to the right. The back side of the benches are guarded buy the wall, and sometimes that can fool shooters. We hope to see you and your friend tomorrow, we will have a slightly lower turnout due to a few shooters shooting in the hog roast in Fairchance PA.

We had a good turnout today with 11 shooters 8 unlimited 3 factory class. Had a couple of new shooters, and so glad they came we had a great time, weather was decent partly sunny and 57 degrees.
