? Most of those that bed only go a max. of 1" from the lug. For safety reasons, it is wise not to flute close to the chamber. Indexing is to get either the flute or unfluted section centered to top of receiver. IME, best accuracy is gained when NO part of the barrel should contact bedding.All the smiths I have seen bed a barrel channel have been doing it wrong? Wow thanks.
