The following works very well in a 308, 12 twist out to 1000 yds.
185 Berger Juggernaut, VV150, Lapua ( SR or LP primers) brass.
Sort ur brass, sort bullets by bearing surface, weight powder to .01 grains, if u can sort primers by wt. everything matters at 1K .
The 308 is a very accurate cartridge and there are a host of bullet/ powder combinations that will shoot well at 1000 yds. The big issue is the amount of atmosphere between u and the target. Reading the wind n learning the drift of ur bullet is the critical skill. U can have the best ammo, most accurate rifle, and still shoot misses!
