Got my ultrasonic cleaner from Harbor freight today. I did a test batch using Baney's cheap & clean formula. It worked as advertised but I noticed the solution started cleaning before I turned the power on. I thought maybe agitation is all that is needed for the cleaning process. I placed some really old brass from my girlfriends grandpa in plastic bag with the solution from the earlier test and clipped it in my vibratory tumbler for the same 480 seconds and cleaned another batch in the ultrasonic cleaner.
The results are pretty much identical. If you have some brass to use, try it and see if you get the same results
