Strange JLK bullets

I was seating a variety of bullet today in my 6.5 PRC ,139gr Lupua,135gr A-tip and 140 gr JLK. First two bullet seated fine and produced nearly 1/2 MOA at 100 . The JLK could by hand be pushed in,and pulled out of neck an 1/8"( But not all the way in or out) What causes that ? I pulled the bullet out an 1/8" and fired ,no problem. Produced a 3/4 MOA group at 100yds. All same brass( Gunwerks brass),same bushing die. .292 bushing, should I try a .290 bushing ?

Did you measure the bullet diameters and was the brass all the same?
If that brass was all the same, a measurement over the loaded necks would still be informative.

The bullet diameters should only be different by a few ten-thousandths of an inch, not thousandths. It doesn’t sound right to have that much variation in neck tension based on the change in brands of bullets, but unless you measure them it is hard to guess about what caused the JLK to be so loose.

Measure the OD around a seated bullet. How does that value compare to your 0.292 bushing? How much diameter difference was there based on your brass thickness?

There may be nothing wrong with trying your 0.290 bushing, but it is time to check your bullet diameters on the JLK and also the dimension over a seated bullet to establish the brass thickness before you can get better advice.
