Strain Guages

Before I ask my question I would like to thank everyone for all the excellent info at this site.

Is there anyone familiar with the RSI product:

http://www.shootingsoftware.com

I am looking at the Shooting Lab/Pressure Trace combo being I already have a Ohler Chrono.

I would use it to help me with reloading.

Thank you,

gator

strain gage system are good tools but that very sensible to set up

Shooting system is easy to use but any system is reliable and true at 100% even if that can be very useful to check what you really get in chamber

I use a system, professional setup and not really cheap ) built with

Vishay gauge set in half bridge
Pacific Instruments amplifier, 20 Khz frequency response )
digital oscilloscope 4 channel from Gould, 20 Mhz on 4 channel )
GPIB link from National Instruments
PC computer with data aquision software and Excel software

I use too a special set up to avoid all as possible diffrence in barrel diameter, avoid shoulder, thread strain, taper surface ..)

I will be happy to compare side by side the Shooting system to my set up .

I always use a calibration barrel with piezo checked ammo, same body diameter / same OD barrel ) to calibrate my system .

at this time I run trials on 6 PPC /6.5 PPC tall dog, the closest chamber design to 6.5 grendel )/ 6 BR Norma /6.5BR

I will publish result ASAP on this board and before the Shot Show 2006 I hoppe .

good shooting
