Stolle Panda Barrel Moved to Rem 700?

Can a barrel threaded for a Stolle Panda action be used on a Remington 700 action? Are the threads the same - I would like to make my 700 into a switch barrel rifle. If this won't work what would I have to do? The current barrel is chambered in 308 so I could just have it rechambered into a 30BR and re-threaded to fit my 700. My action has been blueprinted if that would change anything.

@46490: all of the answers are in the posts above but I thought I'd put them all together.

The panda uses a 1 & 1/16 X 18 pitch thread and the tenon, assuming the short action Panda, is 1.115" long. It most likely has a coned relief cut.

When it comes to 700s, trued can mean a lot of things. It could be that the lugs and and some other mechanical interface surfaces were faced and trued but, it could also mean all of that plus aligning the bolt way, replacing or shimming the bolt and enlarging and truing the threads.

That said, the standard 700 tenon is 1 & 1/16 X 16 pitch with a tenon length mostly dependent on the thickness of the recoil lug. The bolt nose relief cut is straight rather than coned.

If you are thinking of rechambering the Panda barrel, you have to set up the lathe in the same way you would to cut, thread and relief cut the tenon anyway. It is less than an hour of additional work to cut about an inch off your Panda barrel and cut and thread a new tenon as it is to rechamber alone. If your receiver has had thread work done to it, this will have to be done regardless of the barrel you select.

I don't mean to trivialize the job. Setting up a barrel in a lathe for chambering can range anywhere from 30 minutes if you're lucky to several hours or more if you are unlucky.
