Stocks

Hi all, what are the pros and cons of laminated wood versus fiber glass stocks? Looking for an F/class come 1000br stock probably a Shehane MBR Tracker.

Thanks

Paul

If you take a look at the stocks on some of the equipment lists, and pics of record holders on this website,I think you will find fiberglass and wood stock users equally represented.I think it comes down to preferance. At my club in Sac,I'd say its about a 50-50 split, with neither material really dominating the winners circle. That being said,If you opt for something like a laminate, and arent a "do-it-yourselfer" you will probably end up spending about 10-20 percent more than you would for something like a gel-coated Mcmillan. But if you decide to have your fiberglass stock painted, then that can add 200-600 dollars to the bottom line.

But if you get a Robertson you are a lot closer to not needing paint! www.robertsoncomposites.com

Here's a sneak peek at our new F-class stock in dual-gelcoat:
