Stockade vs hs precision stocks?

I purchased a stockade tactical/varmint about a year ago for a savage long action. It was one of the money savers so it was unfinished. If you are handy with some bondo, sand paper, and a paint gun you can save some money. It doesn't have the heft of the HS. It went on a savage with a shillen chambered for 243 win with a 1 in 8 twist. The stock is plenty stiff and with a good bedding job it makes for a great rifle. Off bench at 100 yd I'm getting 1/4 inch groups and haven't even started to tweak my load yet. The HS feels more soled but i really like the stockade. If you want some pics let me know.

Kevin and Janet Rayhill at Stockeade make great stocks for the price.

I have and have put together a number of rifles on them.
