Stock sealer

I had to open the barrel channel on a laminate stock to allow for a bigger barrel. What should I apply to the channel to re-seal it. Also had to open a little in the trigger guard area for the jewel trigger. The rest of the stock came completley finished and sealed.

I use a little Gorilla Glue thinned a little with water, The white or cream type and just coat the area With a small brush and it can be sanded for a real smooth finish. RW

Super glue works Pretty well. Custom pen makers use it on there wood handled pens. I've used satellite city glue

On pre-finished laminates I use Clear polyurethane thinned 50/50 w/ mineral spirits. If you pre-sand w/ 350 grit you'll have a cabinet grade finish. Wipe on, allow to soak in, allow to get slightly tacky then buff/polish with soft clean cloth. Two or more applications might be necessary on very dry wood....... Any sealer that might migrate to the pre-finished areas can be readily removed with mineral spirits. Just my way. Take your pick :)

Tru oil. two cotes and done.
+1. True oil penetrates and forms an invisible moisture barrier from the inside, out. A coat of wax on top and you're good to go ;)
