Stock question

Guys, I have a chance to purchase a varmint rifle built on a Remington XR100 action. Problem is it has a thumbhole stock for a right handed shooter and I'm a lefty.

My question is are there any aftermarket stock makers that sell a stock for the XR100 action? I don't want to commit to a purchase and then find out that I cannot get a stock for it.

Any help would be appreciated.

Dave

The XR100 is essentially a single shot model 7, which most stock mfg. make several models. You might not be able to find a blind mag. model, in which case you would have to buy a mod. 7 hinged (BDL type) floorplate/tg assembly to make it look good. A friend of mine has several XR 100's that he put in 40XB factory wood stocks. The back action screw, trigger and the middle screw are in the same location as the 40X, but the action being shorter requires relocating the recoil lug cutout and the front action screw. Works well, just doesn't look really neat unless you do a lot of fancy woodwork around the loading port and in front of the receiver.

If it's a right handed action/stock it's a mute point isn't it ?

No. I posted that I'm a lefty because the stock that the rifle is in now is a thumbhole stock. That won't work for me being a lefty.

FWI all my bolt rifles are right handed actions. Just looking for a stock that would fit the action and work for me.
