Funny you should mention that. I do just that from time to time. In all honesty though, I usually do it when I have reason to...like the gun being re bedded for a different action, etc. Painting the top edge around the action and the bolt notch can hide stuff like that...and look like it was meant to be that way all along. LOL! Hey...it WORKS!I'm also a fan of solid colors, especially pearl white, oxblood, candied or metal flake primary colors.
But, I personally really like subtle details, like painting the bolt slot a different color, top edges next to barrel channel a different color, etc.
Rick, are you having a Magic Bus moment?Kind of like a flame job but with a liquid look to it. With the points coming to like a glob on the end instead of a point like a flame. Choose some cool/ice type colors......There it is......Having one of those Flash Backs we were all warned about in the 70's....I had better lay down for a bit...........![]()
TCP has some nice airbrush stencilsI have looked into dipping, great process I just like the Artistic side of having it custom done by a painter. Makes it more personal to me I guess.
I am thinking White bass with light and dark gray flames at the moment. I have done flames before but not like that.
Something fairly simple and looks great are ghost flames or ghost whatever.I have looked into dipping, great process I just like the Artistic side of having it custom done by a painter. Makes it more personal to me I guess.

Yes he did a beautiful job. If you remember you sent that gun to me for Kenny to do the work. he is a friend of mine and a tenant at one of my properties. If you're talking about Kenny Prahl, I can't agree more. He did a Ghost Flame treatment over a Chevrolet Blue that was subtle yet beautiful.
