I have a mcmillan a-3 stock on my combination hunting/competition rifle. Rifle does both very well, but when I had the gun made I was pretty unknowledgable about forends/bag riding etc. I am trying to figure a way to possibly create a "slip-on" polyethalene (or other slick substance)flat 3" attachment to allow the gun to ride the front bag without all of the torque that I experience now. It doesn't affect accuracy per-se, but I waste valuable time straightening the gun up in the bag during competition when I would rather be watching conditions. The aftermarket attachments to make the forend a flat 3" from sinclair/midway look bulky, tall and cumbersome to get on and off. Has anyone out there done any experimenting with this sort of thing? I am sure a gunsmith/machine shop could make something quickly if I could the point across what I want. Any photos out there? Thanks.
