Stock for Savage MK2 FVT for shooting prone/sitting/standing

My younger brother picked up a Savage MK2 FVT to try some prone shooting, and he has gotten really good over the past month or two of practicing, probably because he has his own 75yd range and shoots over a thousand rounds a week practicing. He can keep 10 shots inside 1.25" most days, and has quite a few targets that are a inside an inch, which I see as pretty good for a kid with a Savage rimfire and irons.

But now I think the stock is starting to limit him a bit, as it is far from ideal. I'm in need of suggestions for a good 3 position stock for the Savage MK2 FVT. I don't shoot that way, so I am at a loss. I just know the ergonomics are wrong and it's way too light to hold steady enough for him to get better.

Any suggestions are helpful, but try to keep cost in mind as he is just a young kid with a limited budget ($450 tops) and won't allow my father or myself to buy it for him. He wants to pay his own way, and that's ok with me. He also wants to keep the Savage, so another rifle isn't the answer here.

Thanks
Kenny

This looks like a step in the right direction...

Kenny, I have no experience shooting without a rest. I wonder if a Biathalon style stock may be the answer. I believe they shoot standing and prone.

I recently got started with long range .22lr started off at 100 yrds and worked my way up. I am using a 10-22 with a bull barrel and 3-9 Bushnell scope. the longest shot I have was 400 yard and about a 6 inch group.

Thanks Katokoch, and everyone else.

My brother has ordered the Prone/Culbertson style stock from Richard's Microfit in AA Fancy Walnut. He was going to go exhibition grade, but I convinced him to save his money so we can add an adjustable cheek-piece and butt plate. The AA stocks are some seriously nice wood anyway, likely far better than most anyone has on a Savage rimfire.

I will complete the inletting, bed, install the adjustable cheek piece and butt plate, finish shaping to his liking, sand progressively until 1200 grit paper, and finish with hand-rubbed Tung Oil until it looks like glass. Hopefully it improves his shooting as much as it will the appearance of the rifle.

I know Richard's Microfit isn't the best place to get a stock, as I have experienced one of their laminate stock nightmares first hand. But I have heard good things about their solid hardwood Walnut stocks, and have had one myself that was nice, though it was a standard grade and not AA. Hopefully, all will turn out well.
