Stock for 30-30 Winchester - 1970s vintage

I have a 30-30 Winchester. First deer gun and first year I hunted I put a scratch in the the stock when I slipped - hit a rock and gave it a character mark.

I'm looking at possibly selling it and need to replace the stock.

Where is a good place to buy a stock?

Boyds? Brownells also lists some walnut buttstocks for certain lever action rifles, but I'll betcha Boyds would be your best bet for a finished stock, if you're not wanting to finish it yourself.

Hi Neighbor, Just a thought, but, if it's a pre 64 Winchester and looking at your profile it might be it will bring more with the original than with a new one, something you might think about. good shooting, farmerjohn

An iron and a cloth soaked in water not dripping but wet and you can steam the dent up over time and at night wet just the area in question alittle bit and the wood will swell back to its original form and then you can get it refinished or do it yourself.
