STM Media Separator

I have been using Stainless Media a long time but never purchased the STM Media Separator,do any of you use this separator and how well does it work.
I have always picked up my brass in the tumbler two at a time and shake them until pins are out and this takes to long and is a pain in the rear end.
Will the separator work better than shacking them by hand in the tumbler.

Bought the whole system and it really works well. Now for the media separator- - - it does its job although I think it's its a little flimsley. The Dillon separator is a more robust unit.

I use this Frankford Arsenal separator and it works great. I also used to pick up 2-3 at a time shake out then rinse out. Now I fill a 5g bucket with cold water, the separator snaps to the top a standard 5g bucket then you just dump your tumbler bucket right into it, put a pin through to lock the separator then turn the handle.

[/quote . Agreed. I found that it fits well in a 5 gallon bucket, I drilled some 1/16 drain holes this allows me to separate brass, media, and liquid for easier storage

I use a similar separator. The STM will probably work fine, the main thing with the separator is to have a clam shell cover so that when you spin it the pins don't go flying out.

I also use a 5 gal paint strainer to drain the water and dry out the pins. The strainer (a package of 2) cost $3 at Home Depot.

Any media separator should work well, I fill the bucket to the top with water and rotate the seperator. The water helps flush the pins from inside of the case. I alternate the rotation and when done the only pins remaining will be those stuck in the flash hole or primer pocket.

I then use a magnet to pick up any pins in the blocked up deep sink that escaped the bucket.
