Stiller Predator Actions

I'm working on a new short range hunting rig. I am down to purchasing an action and am not willing to pay 550 to 650 dollars for Remington action and unknown wait times for other actions. I have found a source for a Stiller Predator and was wondering if their build quality is still good. I have heard mostly good things but would like more input before I drop my money. My build consists of a Criterion Rem/Age barrel in 300 HAM'R, McMillan Game Warden stock, Trigger Tech Special trigger and probably a Leupold VX-R 3x12x40 firedot scope. Will be mostly hog and deer setup for up to 150 yards. Thanks for any input and stay safe out there.

I have a Stiller PredatorV, and it is a top notch single shot action. Mine is 4 years old, and I can only assume their quality is still as good as it was. I have had no problems. The Predator is a repeater hunting action, and should serve you well.

For a 150 yard firearm, I am not sure I would pony up for a custom action. My suggestion would be to check out your local Walmarts and find a Remington SPS ADL package that they sell for $349-389. You can sell the associated parts (scope, barrel, stock, trigger) for at least $100. Send the action to LRI for truing up and you now have a trued up Rem 700 action for right around $400 invested.

Go with the Stiller Action , you will be much happier in the long run..that
is if its in your budget of-course...I have never been disappointed with a custom.
Shoot well my friend...

Thanks powderbrake! I don't mind paying for a custom handgunHTR since I have the funds. I have a couple Remington's and they shoot good But I'm looking for something a step above and ready to shoot out of the box and I have the capability to swap barrels for different uses. I am finding SPS rifles on Gunbroker for 600 and up which is a sign of the times.

I have had a Stiller Predator and currently have a Shilen DGR, which is a predator variant made for Shilen by Stiller. Very Nice actions. I have no complaints with either one.
