Stiller 2500X Action

Will a Stiller 2500X action fit into a Remmington 700 SA stock. I have a BDL stock from a Sendero (VSFSS) I know the Sendero's were for the larger calibers. I would have to get new bottom metal since I am currently using it on another rifle. Just wanted to save some $$ if I could. Any barrel recommendations - this will be a single shot bench rest for 50 - 100 yards.

The action diameters of the Stiller and 700 are more or less the same. The distance between the front action screw and tang screw on the Stiller is roughly 1 1/4" shorter than a 700. The Stiller uses a trigger hanger and won't fit the stock slot on a 700. Other'n that, you're good to go.

If I could pick the best barrels, I'd do better than I do.

Short answer, no you cannot use the 2500x in a 700 stock. As for barrels, Muller, Shilen would be 1/2. Then the others such as Benchmark, lilja, etc.

If you plan to shoot any real benchrest matches, get a stock made for it with a flat buttstock.

Totally agree with all of the above quote.

Weren't the 2500XR's supposed to drop in's for 700 stuff?
There's one in the classifieds today at a great price if the OP's still interested.

Tim, did not notice the date of the post, but the website has had that information since 2021. No big deal. Have a great day.

I have two newLu built unlimited guns both on 2500X actions, one with a Muller 4mi and the other a shilen ratchet. They both shoot amazing. I don’t think you can go wrong with either barrel.
As for stocks, they both have Rotex stocks from Randy Owens at Precidion Woodcrafting and I’ve been very pleased with them both.

I have a Shilen Rachet and a new muller4mi. I honestly can’t say which one shoots the best. I would just get what’s available. But honestly and I could be 100% wrong. But seems like my Shilen Rachet might do a little better in the wind. But could be I was more used to it.
