Steyr CLII Carbon Yay or Nay?

Do you think the Steyr Carbon is a waste of money and I should just buy a cheaper Steyr(s)?
Option 1
Use: -High Power silhouette
-Rec long range shooting 300-1000yds. It has an option to put a pic rail on the front.
- Hunting if I ever learned, but it's nice to have the option
I just think it's stunning, even though Carbon doesn't really have "character" like wood, it's still beautiful compared to my other option. I would also get it in 6.5 creedmoor even though it may have trouble knocking rams down in silhouette.

So, pretty much I think the Carbon could do all three.

Option 2
Steyr Pro Hunter II 7mm-08
Use: -High Power Silhouette
- Hunting
Ugly, but would do the job and has a great price

Steyr THB Manners stock 6.5 creedmoor
Use: - Rec long range shooting

Stock is very expensive, but I like it in a strange ugly way. I think it would feel at home on the 1k range, but I'm not sure if it really has anything "more" going for it than the Carbon besides the adjustable cheek rest. They both have roughly the same grip.

Thanks for any input, knock some sense in to me.

Tikka seems to be getting all the good press nowadays but for my $0.02 I have 2 modern Steyr rifles and they both will shoot in the .3s as out of the box with my handloads. If it was me I'd go with the Pro Hunter, but thats because of your options I would lean to the 7-08. Could always upgrade the stock in a year?

The Steyr Carbon CL II combines the accuracy of a Steyr rifle with a new extra light carbon fiber stock. Design by FBT, the new stock not only captivates with its light weight and high stability, it is also a "quiet" carbon fiber stock with the same acoustic characteristics as a wooden stock.

The Steyr Carbon CL II is available with our 3-position safety wheel and combi trigger, and has a 5/8 x 24 threaded barrel. Caliber options include .308 Win., 6.5 Creedmoor, and .338 Lap. Mag. This exclusive package includes a soft-side carry case, branded hat, and range notebook.

Additional accessories include the new Steyr FlexSight, which has a special thread that allows the user to change from open sights to a silencer or muzzle brake without any tools. This is the first open sight that can be changed and also easily returned to the exact same position.

Well, with Steyr's stunning marketing I thought everyone would've known what I was talking about ;)

I think i'm leaning more towards the the THB and Pro Hunter II.

I like this Steyr! The cheek piece appears to be shaped for the heavier recoil of the .338 Lapua.emoticon_smiling_thumbs up.jpg

Because it's really cool and I want it?

Honestly, I can't count the number of times I've been there on something. Years ago it was muscle cars. For awhile it was fancy pens/pencils.

These days, I'm constantly asking myself - 'Yeah, but what would I do with it?' to keep from buying something that I just want.
