Steel plate base for rear bag

I was thinking of making a steel or aluminum plate for my rear bag. It would mount to the bottom. and would increase the surface area of the contact to the bench. Anyone else done this?

I have one sitting right here. Took a med protector bag and put a 1" plate under it. Very solid now!

DO you have a layer of leather or something for the grip to the bench top?

No, I'm on the ground but some adhesive sand paper or marine tread rubber might work well on the bench. This is legal in Fclass but not sure about IBS matches. Other than that create away!! I got the idea from another shooter that duct taped his bag to a barbell weight. Lol
