Static Electricity Effecting my RCBS Powder Funnel.

I am embarrassed to ask about this, but I have never had this problem before, but I am getting a considerable amount of kernels that wont flow to the cartridge

I have de-greased the funnel twice using methylated sprits. I have even tried using an old vinyl record de-static gun (away from any powder), but to no avail.

Any ideas please?

Many thanks in advance!

I had this issue with my plastic and Satern aluminum funnels.

But since I purchased the Precision Hardcore funnel, I have not had one instance of static. Powder slides in smooth as butter.

Get a Saturin filter. I had the issue with Lee and other filters. What ever you did eventually you wiuld be back to the problem. They cost a little more but are worth evey penney

I have mostly Saturn funnels. Excellent product. I did buy one of the Hardcore funnels. A beautiful funnel but I was shocked how small it was. I prefer the size of the Saturn. YRMV.

isn't the Satern also aluminum, just anodized? All aluminum anodized or not is almost neutral on the triboelectric scale BTW

There were 4 Saturn funnels available in the "Tools, dies, etc. Forum". Just to reiterate, there were. :D

I finally ended up with the Precision for the following reasons.

The plastic funnels would build up a static charge and hold debris that caused the powder to hang up. Made a lot of messes as a result. I also had trouble with it not being stable on the case and on rare occasion, hanging up on the case has I lifted it and causing a spill.

I went to the Satern but it had some static and other issues as well. The inside of the funnel has rings from the forming process that would cause the powder to hang up. It also didn't sit well on the cases and was too large in my opinion.

The Precision so far has had no issues with powder hanging up anywhere. The powder flows so smoothly. Also the fit to the case neck is much better in my opinion to the Satern. I didn't think I would like the smaller shape at first but I have found that it is perfect, easy to drop the powder into and because of its weight is very stable so no issues. The one negative is the price, a little high at $27 but you only spend it once.

Like most things in this game, you can bite the bullet once and be done with it or you can spend a lot more buying and replacing items until you finally get to where you could have started at. By the time you go through all of that, you have spent way more.

I know many reloaders that have used the plastic funnels for ever and see no reason to change. Likewise many use other options out there including the Satern and again have no issues. For me these other options didn't cut it and I am happy with the Precision.
