Start from scratch 338 edge or Rum?

I have a Win 70 L/a. I want to build a rig to run with my buddies 338LM. Would you build a rum or an edge and Why?
Variables to consider
I can do my own work(have lathe)
I think I can do simple modofications to reload dies ie ream/bore out 300 rum dies to 338 neck,or for a neck bushing
I will not be shooting factory ammo at all either way
Component cost matters a bit

338 Edge uses a mag bolt vs a lapua mag bolt. Mag bolt might be more versatile if you decide to chamber other mag bolt face carriages like a 300 WSM, etc. Same as the lapua mag bolt. You are limited to cartridges with lapua mag cartridges.

Get good brass. Bertram is worth the $ in the long run. I loved my Edge a lot.

How much difference did you see in edge velocity between
real world and online hype? Is it all its advertised as?

I like my 338 RUM, but brass can be a PITA to get.

Wyatt's makes a magazine box for the Winchester Model 70 and ultra mag cartridges.

In my experience with the 338 rum and 338 Edge. Having the same barrel length and pressures loaded the same the 338 Edge will be about 100fps average faster than the 338 rum bullet weight for bullet weight.
