Starline 223 Rem brass??

I bought 200 pieces. It is good looking brass, no dented mouths. I weighed 100 pieces for exterior weight only, 1.1 grain. This was with some outliers 6-7 pieces. Setting them aside the rest of the 100 were 0.6 of a grain. I loaded 50 of them, no case prep. This was for my AR15, but shot only 10 in it, the rest in my bolt rifle. Winchester srp seated tightly. I will chamfer the mouths inside and out of them all, development a new load, and load them for FTR . I believe I will get my monies worth out of them. I'm not a serious competitor, I shoot against myself mostly and I'm sure they treat me as good as the score I'm used too.

My experience is positive. I purchased 400 to fireform to .223A. Cleaned up case mouths and loaded them up. Of the lot I purchased there were 2 mouths that were misformed, but then I received 404 total.

Bought 500 a year back. Consistent neck walls. Resize nice and repeat. Have had no issues and like them.
Really like the price :D

I bought 500 for pdog shooting. I didnt do much comparison but they seem to be good quality brass. My test loads had low es. I believe case volume (based on weight) is slightly less than LC or Lapua.

I really like the 5.56 Starline brass. Same dimensions but supposedly harder primer pockets. It takes some serious abuse.

Its pretty thick brass, and as previously mentioned the 5.56 follows the NATO hardness profile from head to neck, the 223 is the same dimensionally but a tad softer. Its thicker neck wall than LC or Lapua by about a thou. Decent value.

I also recently purchased 500 pcs on sale at Midway (I think it was ~$103.00). The Starline brass is a little rougher than Lapua straight out of the box and required slightly more attention to the flashholes/primer pockets, although not a huge extra effort. The difference in case weight and volume as compared to Lapua is significant, meaning loads will likely not be directly interchangeable between these two different brands of brass. Along that same line, the casehead region of the Starline brass is noticeably thicker, and it can survive pressure that will cook the primer pockets of Lapua brass in a single firing (ask me how I know this LOL). In my hands, the precision of Lapua brass generally seemed better in side-by-side testing. However, I'm not convinced that the loads in the Starline brass were really optimized, given the marked difference in case volume. Overall, my impression of Starline brass is very favorable, so far. Given that F-TR loads with 90 gr .224" bullets can sometimes be very hard on brass, I especially like the idea that the Starline brass costs about 1/3 the price of Lapua. If the primer pockets also last longer, so much the better. It's tough to beat the overall quality and precision you get with Lapua brass, but the Starline brass is also a very good value.

I sent some in to Alex at AMP, his report was that the neck wall thickness was all over the place, that is was some of the worst brass he has seen.
I sold it, so no personal experience with it. Just wanted to report his findings.
