Stand By, Washington State

I'd rather prevent it from becoming law than go through challenging it after it becomes law.

This bill needs to be defeated.

Interesting statement:

A second bill from Ferguson would not ban such weapons but would require them to be licensed. To get a license, a person would have to be at least 21 (rather than 18), would have to complete a gun-safety class and could not have been convicted of a felony.

Isn't "convicted of a felony" already covered under Federal Law? Or does Washington state already not pay attention to federal law?

The felony language is either superfluous or they are dropping the state's violent offense exclusion. I doubt they will do that.

Man that stinks....... but what could you really expect from a liberal Democrat like that? If you think liberal, believe liberal and vote liberal, you'll probably end up with liberal...... which is what happened. If Hillary would have won, congratulating Ferguson for trying to impose common sense gun laws would likely have been one of the first things she did..........BUT

Now that Trump is in, instead of Hillary, and conservatism is on the rise it seems, maybe things like this will be less likely to happen. Gun owners can only hope........

Not necessarily. We kept President Obama under control for eight years.
Not exactly true, why do you think ammo and components went up? If you can't take the guns, let's mess with ammo. The Federal government bought record numbers of ammo including 22 rimfire to keep it off the market and drive prices up. Every Government agency including ones that don't have guns, bought it. Including Social security and post office. They bought 100's of millions of dollars worth from each agency. Check the history of prices and see what it caused in the last 8 years. They weren't exactly gun friendly. They just did things sneaky and against the law. Matt

I see he has been planning this since September. You know darn well who he thought would be in the White House, and that he would be riding the crest of the wave. I wonder if the alternate bill was written up at the last minute?

Can't believe there are any discussion replies to this thread, when the OP is one that supports anti-gunners, and troll's the forum board in support of them.
Then rallies for help to dodge bullets created by his own anti-gun lib-tards.
Troll bait is all this is....

I, for one, am sure hoping that enough people will hit the ignore button on our 2 resident "Trolls" and shut them up for good. Neither one contributes anything helpful.

I sincerely doubt that any ban will happen unless it is put on an initiative. The state government is not going to put themselves at risk. The only way they got the universal background check was by allowing the people to vote on an initiative. Since more than half the population lives in the tri-county area those three counties can control the law.

There's a controlling area in every state.

Gun control is the one of three issues I disagree with our leadership about. Overall, that's not bad, since usually we can keep two of them under control.
