What liquid is the best to use?

Someone suggested laundry detergent and I tried it the last time around. It worked fine and it did seem easier to rinse and didn't bubble up as much. Make sure to use some lemishine as well.

This stuff is way better than the soap and water with limishine. the cases do not tarnish after sitting

Don't forget the spot remover. I use Lemishine.

Plan old tap water, squirt of Damn soap, and a small amount of lemi Shine. Lemi Shine about a table spoon full or so, keeps the water spots away.

Find that using tap water as hot as it comes out of the tap is also helpful. Squirt of Dawn (looked for RS's Damn soap at the grocery, but couldn't find it ) and store-brand lemon-based cleaner. 8oz jug of soap and citric cleaner will last many, many cleanings.

What these guys said. I live in AZ so I've tried piping hot hose water as well as room temp tap.... I can't tell a difference. :-\

This is what ive been using since i got mine and works like a champ!

2tblspns of Dawn + 1/8tsp of Lemishine + water...you will have to figure out how long to leave it. I have done up to 4 hours but I have done it as short as 30min.

Honestly, I haven't put a piece of brass in a tumbler all summer. I just clean the necks off and brush the insides.

I don't get this. I use a hearty serving of Dawn in every batch... shoot.. I'm running TWO Thumlers. And I don't get but a little bubble foam on the top when I open it up.

And so what? I have to poor it off into the strainer and pin net anyway. :-\

By the time I shake the pins throught the strainer the residual soap bubbles are negligible.
