Staball 6.5 Powder

I like everything about this stuff but have not heard if anybody is getting real accuracy with it in 6x47L, 6.5x47L 6 Br etc. Can it really replace Varget, RL15 4350? Or is it all marketing?

I don’t think it will replace varget or reloaded 15. The burn rate is not the same. It’s slower! Most say it’s too slow to shoot in a 308? So I doubt it will replace anything. Just more marketing.

I shot it in a match in March, about 75 rounds. When I cleaned the rifle, It looked like I had been shooting 3F Black Powder.

Well it is a slower burn rate than Varget or RL-15, so it wouldn't touch on those. It's claimed to be a similar burn rate to H4350. I think it's only plus would be for progressive presses loading cartridges that play well with H4350 and similar burn rates. I did pick up a 1 lb bottle to try out. Someday I might just get around to it, lol.

StaBall 65, is probably NOT for, "Matches" but works pretty good, in a .243 Win for, HUNTING Loads and "Meters",.. perfectly !
Haven't tried, the 87 HVLD Bergers but, the CHEAP, 100 grain Hornady, BTSP'S are shooting around, 1/2 to 3/4 MOA so far, in Hot / Windy, conditions.
And, I don't have to weigh, the freakin' Powder charges, anymore ! PS; I haven't, looked in the barrel, yet, tho ! .. LOL ! StaBall 65, Gets my vote for, a Varmint / Deer, etc., Powder and IF, tired of, weighing, charges ! My son is getting, 1/2 MOA in, a 7mm -08 and almost, 2,900 FPS with 150 ELD-X's. It's pretty Hot, "stuff" in, the 08 !

I did a little testing with it in the Creed and 260. It worked fine, but is no better/worse than some other powders. Just another option. So what if there is some soot in the barrel. Doesn't hurt a thing.
