staball 6.5 in 284,284shehane??

Next trip out was warmer and I did a seating depth ladder as I suspected I was off a little. This was at 600 yrs also and I'm not sure I trust the chrono numbers 100%, I had to put the Labradar in a different position to catch any shots so im not sure.

My throat grew a little so .032" is actually. 036" after measuring my lands. Next test I'll start a little lower in the powder and see what that looks like.

Are you having to use magnum primers with the 6.5 Staball with it being a ball powder? When I was messing around with BL-c2 and H414 I got way better results using magnum primers.

I haven't tried a mag primer yet because the BR 2s were shooting nice & small with RL 16

When I get it back down to 2700ish it wants to tighten up but that's where RL 16 works as good or better for me so not really anything to gain other than in cold weather it could run 2770 ish possibly but it would be right on the edge of beating up the brass.

At the suggestion of another member I tested further with this powder in the 47.4 range.

This is a seating depth ladder with a couple powder 47.5 & 47.6 thrown in. Mostly because I had 6 pieces of test brass left and wanted to keep them on the same cycle.

While the accuracy is certainly there it is very close to 2800 where I loosened 4 primers at the same temperature so in warmer temps I doubt this load would be useable.

Then I tried the 180s with a light jam. Pretty big but 46.8 looks interesting. Seating depth looks off though.
