The 2026 Tuesday Fun Shoots at St. Thomas Sportsman's Association begin on Tuesday, April 7, 2026. Matches are held at the Thurman Finnif Memorial Rifle Range on the club grounds. The first relay begins at 09:00. The signup fee is $6.00 per rifle. All responsible shooters are invited to compete, you do not need to be a club member.
One significant change in operations was voted on and approved at the February committee, that being the application of formal Saturday match time restrictions. All relays shooting 100 - 200 yards factory class, 200 - 300 Yards custom class have 6 minutes to complete the targets. Factory class 300 yards and custom class 400 yards have 9 minutes to complete the targets. Exceptions will be made for shooters conducting tests or getting scopes on target. Notify the safety officer before the relay for instructions. There will also be different types of matches with different targets and requirements. We experimented with some ideas at the end of last season and will be implementing those concepts this season.
Although aggregate scores and kept and payouts are issued, this is an informal, FUN SHOOT, and is a good venue to practice for the formal Saturday shoots. You must be present to collect your winnings. Unclaimed payouts are returned to the general fund. Bring snacks or lunch for the post-match get-together in the pavilion. The Groundhog Committee provides pizza at the mid-season and end-of-season payouts for top aggregate scores. Bring swap-and-sell items to any Tuesday shoot. Tuesday matches continue until the weather becomes inhospitable in the fall.
