A good one is close but I agree with most, that they just won't quite run with a ppc or a grendel, consistently. But for a fun gun, do whatever makes it fun, yes. I've had a couple that could run with anything really but just not a safe bet for serious competition. I've wondered what those bbls would do as a ppc/grendel, too. Maybe better but maybe not. I mean, if they're beating other good ppc's etc, how much better can the case make it. We're at a point it's just hard to say either way.If a guy is just building a fun gun, what’s wrong with just keeping life simple and shooting a slow twist 6 br and light bullets ?
It will not, unless we are dang close and maybe still. That's what I mean about being at a point where it's just hard to say, when AGGs are in the mid teens, how much better can a case be? One thing's certain...no case will do it if it's not VERY well steered.I like that, but also wonder if I read conditions and adjust better than you, will your ppc make up the difference ?
LIke winning Daytona in FordI?........HEY,I remember when Bill France & Junior Johnson ran Ford & Chrysler out of NASCAR because GM's coudn't keep up with the Hemi's For years after there no factory backed Ford's or Chrylsler......ALL GM until Bill Elliot in the "8o's....even now NASCAR is biased against Fords. It will not, unless we are dang close and maybe still. That's what makes big matches great, imo. It can be just about anybody's day at a club level match but at a big match, it's 5 people's day at the same time and the winner beats the best people, on their best day. That's why I think that even a top 5 or so finish is a big accomplishment at big matches. Nothing to be ashamed of, for sure. You were still among the best of the best, on their best day, regardless of what you shoot. That's pretty big, imho. But when ya with something different, it's like winning the Daytona 500 in a Ford! Lol!
Yep, and then they did all they could to slow Bill and Ernie down. Pre restrictor plate racing was great. I still think they could make it great again just by putting em back on bias plys. The biggest balls will stay in the gas longer that way. It'd definitely put the driver back into it more than for the last 35 years or whatever it's been.LIke winning Daytona in FordI?........HEY,I remember when Bill France & Junior Johnson ran Ford & Chrysler out of NASCAR because GM's coudn't keep up with the Hemi's For years after there no factory backed Ford's or Chrylsler......ALL GM until Bill Elliot in the "8o's....even now NASCAR is biased against Fords.
I have enough 6.5 Grendel brass to burn out a barrel and this is very intriguing to me. I also have enough to do the same with a 6br. I must ask. Is there any place I can get more information on the 6 Grendel?Yep, and then they did all they could to slow Bill and Ernie down. Pre restrictor plate racing was great. I'd be happy to discuss it with you as much as you want but I'm not really free to talk much due to a family emergency, for a few days. Just typing as I can between hospital visits etc right now.I have enough 6.5 Grendel brass to burn out a barrel and this is very intriguing to me. I also have enough to do the same with a 6br. Equipment will only get you so far.......Tiger Woods golf clubs don't make you Tiger Woods.I like that, but also wonder if I read conditions and adjust better than you, will your ppc make up the difference ?
Yes, and not knocking it but I simply have not found any other brass that holds pressure and is of otherwise decent quality, like Lapua brass. Particularly in the 220, Grendel and BR brass. This being a not so small sample over the last 25 years, roughly. Again though, I do think there are pretty good alternatives to Lapua if you're not loading at the very top end.
