Springfield Armory M-14....

I bought from them back around 1980 has a heavy stock that I'm trying to recall the name of and it's skipped my brain badly! It's not classified as fiberglass but was a special order as it was stiffer and better than regular fiberglass. It's made over-size from the wooden stock and entire rifle probably weighs in at 15#. If any of you guys know the name I'd appreciate the info! I won 5 state service rifle championships shooting it and even after 10,000 rounds through this barrel the last time I shot the 300 yard event and target it cleaned both ten shot strings but it used the entire ten ring. Damn...I can't dredge up the name of this stock material for the life of me!

No....it's not what you'd call from a commercial supplier; just the type of material that I'm trying to recall...but can't! Appears I'm brain dead! Thanks for your effort!
