Spring time and Mother Nature

I've been putting a bit more effort into gardening this year, especially after all the wet weather we have had here in California recently. I live in a large city, right in Mid Town. Thankfully I have a large lot but still mostly container garden.

Mix of flowers, herbs, succulents, and right now just tomatoes, peppers and lettuce for food crop.

Something about coming home after a 9 hour day at work, grabbing a cold beer and a steel rake and heading into the yard. Just feels right. Got a few more beds turned and amended, ready for more planting. Flowers are starting to bloom and I'm hoping most will be ready for mothers day so I can make a large arrangement for my love.

I know many parts of the country are still in winter weather patterns or still getting frost, but if you can, be sure to get out there and put your hands in the dirt. Its good for you, I promise!

83 here today. Mowed 3 times already and winter is coming on Sunday. If you don't like the weather wait 12 hours and it will change this time of year... wait another month and Its hot as hell with high humidity...
I'd rather have winter than summer but that's just me.

And mornings start at like 30...

82° here today. My orange tree has really opened up its blossoms in the last two days, the entire yard smells amazing. Trimmed some tomato plants and cut some freesia for the missus. Expecting 90° before the end of next week already. I wish lawn mowing was seasonal here. My landscapers come year round, every week.

I was ready to get potatoes in the ground yesterday untill I woke up to an inch of snow on the ground . Did a little work in the greenhouse and and still dealing with starts in the house. They keep telling me spring is coming but now really believing them this year!!

12 HOURS!? Here in ILLINOIS, ya only hafta wait about 10 minutes to change seasons!!!:D

Snowing here along the Front Range in Colorado. The news pointed out April can be the snowist month of the year. Do not even think of going out to CRC for some test time, with the clay even walking is a chore.

I was contemplating starting potatoes this week but was concerned about how late it is to start. Just sowed some pepper seed tonight, divided my bell pepper seedlings, got some giant sunflower, gazania, and pollinator mix in the ground as well.

Lots of things going on here. The climbing rose is doing better this year (fired the old landscaper who took a hedge trimmer to everything and ruined a bunch of my plants) the herbs are blooming, and a ton of bell pepper seedlings starting. Will need a couple starter trays at least for all these!

Today was the first 90° of the season. Getting things ready for the heat thats coming sooner than later!
