Spotting scope recording

What’s the best way to record through a spotting scope? Or is there a better way to record in general? We have another pdog trip in June. My buddy wants to be able to get good video of some of the carnage.

I've seen some pretty good stuff taken with a phone mount gizmo that holds your phone to the eyepiece of the scope. I took these pics with my phone hand-held up to the eyepieces of a pair of binoculars. Sure would have been easier with a gizmo. jdIMG_0650.jpegIMG_0649.jpeg

High mag digital camera, with memory card
I think a $15 64 MB card will record somehwere around 30 minutes?
(I ended up getting a Nikon 60x camera when Nikon quit making scopes but I needed a scope warrantied, they gave me credit instead, I was reluctant at first because I wanted a scope more than a camera, in the end, it was a good trade)

I put my Sightmark wraith day/night scope on my 204R for a pd run. Worked pretty good for shot video inside 150 yards(base mag is low for no zoom long range shots). Haven't tried the Tactacam thru scope camera. Coyote pic Phone skope adapter about 1/2 mile. I need readers so focus when spotting scope is on truck window isn't easy.IMG_20200227_080440482_HDR~2.jpg

Digiscape adapter for cell phone works, Not all are created equal. Read reviews and they can be easy to temperamental, I use one for moon and bird shots with my spotting scope mounted to my Gear Buggy Stand. Once set up works well.

I use the tines up phone adapter. Works very well. They have changed names since I bought my set up but I'm sure Google could find them.

I just ordered a cheap Chianeze version on EBay. I doubt it will be any good, but when it comes I'll modify or replace it with my own version made from paper clips, vacuum cleaner hose, tongue depressors, and JB Weld.

I use the Long Shot Ranger+ range camera, and have had awesome luck. The Ranger+ is priced in the mid $400's and it's good for 1,000 yards. So it's way cheaper than a good spotting scope which generally isn't going to see bullet holes on paper at 1k yards. The Long Shot camera will not only show you a zoom able close-up of your target, but will also mark your impacts, measure your groups and mean radius, record your shooting, and more. I'm impressed with their system.
