SOLD ** SPF ** Sako L579 .308 Win.

This is a Sako L579 chambered in .308 Win. by George Vais, a world renowned gunsmith and designer of the Vais brake.

This rifle has been in storage as I was told, for a few years. There is a little freckling on some of the metal work and some odd stains (looks like oil) on the buttstock that I can't get to go away. Other than that, it's your basic L579 in .308 Win.

The barrel is 22" and 1:10" twist. I, nor the original owner know the round count but it was only a hunting rifle so the count is likely low, see the bolt face. As shown it weighs 7-1/4 lbs. It's nice and light, handy for hunting!

This must ship to an FFL. I can ship USPS, UPS or FEDEX, your choice. Remember this will ship in a hard case with a cardboard sleeve so the weight will add more cost to the shipping as will the dimensions.

REDUCED $850.00 shipped

Great pricing on a fine hunting rifle. George lived here in the Boise area for 3-4 years. I used to visit him at his shop before he returned to his native country of Greece. I miss our visits.

Happy Monday and the start of a new week!

This is a far better manufactured rifle than any Remington (similar price) by far! And with a custom barrel by an outstanding well known gunsmith!

Available and ready to ship to your FFL.

Barrel mfg ?

George did not mark the manufacturer on the barrel and the original owner does not remember the maker. But being that this is a Vais rifle, he was known to use just the top names in barrels.

I just finished borescoping the barrel on this rifle. I used my Hawkeye Borescope which is very high quality, the standard in this industry.

I went in from both the breech and the muzzle to be sure to cover the entire length. I had already cleaned the barrel, not noting anything on the patches except the cleaner. The entire length is bright and shiny with no signs of either rust or pitting.

Another member just asked about the muzzle diameter @ .693"

What is the stock material? All I can tell you is that it is NOT carbon Fiber. It IS a McMillan stock so I lean towards it being fiberglass,

Great pricing on a fine hunting rifle with the Vais brake

not sure I see a brake....beautiful rifle
thanks al

There is no brake.

My reference was only to the fact that George was the designer of the Vais brake.
