Speer Gold Dot Bullets for Hunting

Speer indicates that their Gold Dot bullets are designed for "tactical" purposes--self-defence, etc. Evidently, they are a bonded-core bullet. What are your thoughts about using these bullets for big-game hunting? One could speculate that, if they are effective in killing people, they should also do the job on big-game animals, but is this an over-simplification or just plain wrong?

Anyone here with experience with these bullets on game? My interest is primarily in the 115-grain .277 Gold Dot.

I have killed a few deer with the 90 grain .277 Gold Dots using my 6.8SPC AR. A couple of pigs and yotes as well. I am sure the 115 will work great too.

I have shot a couple mule deer with the 90gr from my 6.8spc with great results. Muzzle velocity close to 2700fps.

I'd definitely like to try them in other calibers.

If you are about killing then go Hammer Bullets. Amazingly easy to load, accurate AF, and the most lethal bullet I've shot. DRT no track kills.
