SOD made for Bret Solomon with instrument grade torified/toasted maple cut by Dennis Ray @Southwest Action Works.
Bret has patiently waited 3-4 years to get to where we're at today on his project.
Speedy and Brett pushed me out of my comfort zone on this sending me videos from PRS guitars breaking down different application and blending of dye straight outta the bottle.
Objective was to get me to do a dye job like I'd never done before
I reached out to D-Ray about some drops to experiment with to figure out how i would get it all to come together.
Speedy and Bret really enjoyed the fade from end to end where I liked the panel that faded up after setting red dye in the soft grain...
well after long conversations voice and text, and a few trips to the woods to clear my thoughts we decided on colliding both ideas into 1.
This is the result of that that collision
Red, orange, and vintage amber dye were my primary colors blending in custom blended dark chocolate brown and copper on edges
