Speedy Gonzalez Contact?

Is anyone aware of his status? The reason I ask is because I can't get him to return texts which is his method of communication. He's working on what should be a top-notch F-Class rifle, and he gave me the impression it's getting close and ready for me to plan on picking it up. It should be getting close because he got the Cerus stock from Will McCrosky in October 2020 (I ordered it from Will in October 2019), and he has had a Nuevo action and a magnum bolt as well as a new March scope and rings for bedding just about as long. I've been hearing "getting close" for over a year. The last text was March 15 saying, "This week" and that he'd call. That's the last I've heard from him. I've really made a point of staying out of his hair and not wasting his time. His shop is 6 hours from me (Lubbock, Texas), and it really isn't feasible for me to drop by for a face-to-face. The crazy thing is that other than me sending the parts mentioned above, I've not paid him. I really want him to take my money.

I really like him, and he did me a favor getting me one of his previous builds from another client to use while this one is in process. I just want to know if anyone has knowledge of his gunsmithing affairs and some advise about what I ought to do to get this thing wrapped up.

He is "speedygonzalez" here on this website. You're spelling is incorrect. I think he's in San Antonio area now.

Ordered a Robertson stock from him many years ago. I did get the stock but it was not the color I ordered. Knowing about his "foibles" -which were well known amongst the BR crowd at the time- I considered myself lucky to just a stock in hand.

Speedy recently had a telephone virus that destroyed his telephone contact list. He seems to be receiving texts from a restored contacts list now but, not everyone made it back on to that list. I drove to his shop about two weeks ago to reestablish contact.

Would the FFL log book identify all the actions in a shop’s possession and related contact information?

He does take his time on custom rifles. How a friend had mentioned, there is nothing Speedy on custom work. At least over a year or more on a custom rifle. I usually try to get ahold of him in the mornings.

3 1/2 years on an F-class rifle? There are so many good F-class rifle builders out there, why would you give your business to someone who hasn't delivered in 3 1/2 years. I know he has a good reputation but apparently he's just too busy to take in long term projects. I'd collect my goods and try another 'smith who cares about your business.
