I’m off on another coyote calling expedition. This time to the great state of South Dakota. I’ve called this area for 30 years probably. There are many opportunities for longer shooting here, but this morning we called a stand that has produced many coyotes over the years and none of them have been over 100 yards. It’s a narrow brush choked ravine that the coyotes use to travel incognito. It’s earned the name ‘Stitch Ditch’ because it’s close range, and often hurried shooting. That adds up to coyote hides that need a few (dozen or hundred) stitches before we can sell them. This old gal came in late to a pup fight and didn’t offer much time to get the shot made. My partner and I shot so close together you couldn’t tell there were two shots. Enjoy.
