My 6 br was built last sept. and at the time I was unaware of the change to lapua brass and my rifle was cut with a .271 or .272 nk. The blue box brass I have is .267 loaded nk dia. When my smith called PTG to get a reamer and talk to Dave about what length freebore would be optimal for the 66-68gr bullets I planned to shoot in it, either Dave did not ask him about the brass I planned to use or my smith did not ask me. I did not know there was a difference so I guess the blame lies at my feet for my lack of knowledge. I use a redding nk sizer with a .265 bushing and was wondering, A) does the .267 loaded nk dia hurt that much in a .271-.272 chamber; and if it does B) where can I get some old cardboard box brass with the .269 nk dia? Or am I just up S&^% creek without a paddle? Rifle is a trued 700 w/ bartlein 1-13.5 HV contour. Glue in SS bottom in a bobby hart laminate, pillared and bedded from 1.5" in front of the recoil lug back to just infront of the trigger and at the tang. My smith filled in the mag cutout in the stock and bedded over it for extra bedding footprint. This is my first rifle that is bedded in front of the recoil lug is this normal? The remingtons and savages that I have bedded stop just in front of the recoil lug with the barrel completely floated under the chamber. Thanks for any help
