SOS any Annealeez owners/users Flame Issue?

I hope someone can Help me out. I cannot get the unit to produce a nice inner blue flame. I am getting all kinds of flair up, tried different propane bottles same result. Also when shutting down it takes about 7 minutes for the flame to go out! Is this normal. I have used regular plumbers torches to anneal for years and never had a problem. Any suggestions? Do I have a bad valve?

thx Ted

I had to change the torch on mine. It fixed the problem. I too was amazed at how much gas is in the tube/system. It takes a while for the flame to go out if I just close the valve at the tank.

The torches are internally regulated and have holes so small you can't hardly see them. Once they plug up it's over. Replace the torch and boogie on.

Some good advice here. I was going to say dirt clogging the torch. A new head is cheap Try that.

Probably oil in the aeration screen. Unscrew the nozzle (when cool) and hose it out with carb cleaner. Mine packs up every several hundred rounds.

Make sure the bottle is upright. At one time videos showed the bottle lying down and that caused lots of flame issues.

Richard

I think Richard hit the issue on the head. Someone has a tutorial out there with the bottle laying down. I have cleared the hoses and my flame seems to be getting better.

Thx for all the Help.

I have played with this until I am blue in the face! I don't think I have a good inner flame it's not nice and evenly shaped as you can see in the Video. Also after the case is picked up after anneling the case stays in the flame. Due to the case shape I cannot adjust this out? What am I doing wrong?

thx Ted

Take the screen end off the torch and clean it. It'll unscrew. Make sure the tiny hole on the torch is working.. odds are it is.
It's the screen that gets sutty.
I used a bread tie wire to clean the pockets around the edges. Don't break it off in there !
It's like new now.

Your flame isn't correct. I had a nozzle go bad and had to replace the torch. Here is what my manual setup looked like. See the flames near the head. The bottom of yours isn't even getting any gas.

thx guys I figured I had a torch head issue, what about the case staying in the flame after it is picked up by the wheel? No it is not MAP just a reg green short propane can?

thx Ted
