Something for the No. 1 Guys

Ruger No 1
7 SAUM IMP
Hawk Hill Barrel 1-8.5” Modified 5” Long Breech 3B Contour
I did the 5” breech so I could glue and screw a set of picatinny mounts flat on top and not have to use a standard No 1 contour or mounts.
Spiral fluted by Bugholes
Jard trigger set at 1 lbs

I just got two of my No 1 receivers back from nitride and have a couple of barrels with this same contour. I just need a little time to work on my own guns and I think I’ll build a 7x57 Mauser AI and 6.5x55 Swedish AI for myself.

I used to be a huge single shot fan, I started collecting parts for a NO.1 in 221 fireball……
Ended up selling the parts but still have a dozen NO.1 rifles
The one in the pic is beautiful

That #1 turned out very nice.
Who do you have nitride your actions ? Please post a picture of your nitrided #1.
Can they do any actions?

Thanks
Hal

They have done several actions, bolts, custom dies, etc... they’re great to deal with

Here’s a picture of some of the pieces of one of my No 1’s I just got back from them. This action was stored behind a guy’s refrigerator for several years. He forgot it was back there and it was pitted and pretty rusty. I polished quite a bit of it here and then sent it off to H&M and this is what is looks like now. I wish I had the before photo so you could see what it looked like. I think I still have the old barrel and it looks just like the action did

You gonna take it on your Wyoming hunt this year?

Thanks for posting a picture.
I'm working on a small Sako action that I'm thinking of having nitride finished.
I removing all the machine marks and polishing it to a high polish.
Have you ever seen a action nitrided that's been polished to 2000 grit ?

Kaitlyn drew the goat tag in Wyoming. We’re going to take her 6.5x55 AI that @RiflePainter cerakoted and put her favorite bible verse on it. I’ll have to post pics of it later. I’m going to take my old trusty 260AI to Montana for my deer hunt. I’ve harvested a lot of critters all over this great country with my 260 and it’s hard for me to take anything else

Her Sweede improved is definitely a meat gettin machine, and I know Texas pigs fear your 260ai.
You canoe'd more than a few pig heads with it.
