In today’s bulletin, which I make a point to read every day. The subject being silhouette shooting. Not even a slight mention of IHMSA any where in the blog. I know there are a lot of IHMSA shooters that frequent here on a daily basis. Accuracy is appreciated by all, no matter the form.

I am no world champion from the Internationals, but I have my share of state wood. IHMSA actually has made me a better rifle shooter.

Not meant as any kind of rant, just surprised there was zero mentioned about the pistola shooters.

Dusty I took it as it was from the NRA blog?

The boss has a ton of articles to post. I wish i was a good writer id help out when i could. He gathers info from everywhere and puts it here so we’re a one stop shop for shooting related news

Shot IHMSA matches back in the 70's and 80's. Wichita Arms bolt action pistol in 7mm IHMA caliber and a Dan Wesson revolver in .357 Super Mag. Open sights and no supports. Now it's shooting stools and scopes. Not complaining, at least I'm still shooting.

I loved IHMSA in it's heyday. Iron sights only and no support. I wonder what happened?

I did too and also did Palma with Iron Sights and Hi Power X-Course with iron sights. Fast forward to today and at 45 my dominate eye has gone from 20/08 to 20/40. That is not the problem though accommodation is the problem if I used the right word. Basically I can keep the rear sight in focus or the front sight in focus along with the target but I can not keep both sights and the target in focus. So I am fine with a bead on a shotgun and fine with staying on my front sight in CQB or hunting at close range with a pistol again staying on the front sight. For everything else though I use optics. My Mauser rifles with stock sights are impossible for me to use as built the notch in the rear sight is too small.
