First off, roe deer in Europe is a relatively small animal.

Secondly, I was shooting it today at about 120m. It was a little bit quartering away hight shoulder shot and I hit directly the scapula. The bullet did not penetrate the bone but was deflected away instead. The deer run about 50 meters and fell down but after couple of seconds was trying to get up and was preparing to run away (!). I was faster and finished the deer with a headshot, but hey- it was not supposed to happen. All youtube videos I watched about a high shoulder shot were saying that it is a kill switch.
It was a 140gr Elite Hunter over N555 and the shot placement was spot on. The shot angle was not perferct though.
