Some questions

Got a couple of questions:

1. Is there a free reloading program that also has chamber pressure listed for loads and is easy for a person to use who doesn't reload much?

2. Is there anyone that may want to help with a load.

I am looking for a load for 500 S&W. A lead bullet. I would like a load that does not produce more than 30,000 psi chamber pressure but with a bullet weight between 350-400+ grains. A load that uses the most space in the case when loaded and a load that will use all the powder in the case.

If you're a Windows or Linux user, try Gordon's Reloading Tool. It's fairly simple to use if you go with default specs for a given caliber. Not so simple if you want to get dead-nuts accuracy by tweaking everything to your exact shooting scenario, but gives you general idea of what should (theoretically) be going on..

The yearly Hodgdon Manual is an excellent source of load data & pressures. Lots are listed for the .500 Mag.
CFE Blk may be what you're looking for.

I got the hodgden app, but the Gordon one is beyond me. I was born a late for all this computer stuff. I can do some but not a lot

Thanks to everyone that responded, I really do appreciate the help.

The Hornady, Hodgden and the annual manual will give you all you need to work as you want. Be safe and sane, start with start loads and work up slowly, if you want to work up to the max area.
More than likely you will do just fine right around the start load area.

(Someone got a little carried away with loads in the photo of that revolver and cartridge, sure hope they were not hurt badly, or anyone standing nearby.)

Gordon's is free (though no longer updated)

I've found it useful.

It will give you underpressure or overpressure errors, based on the data you've supplied it with.
