Some pretty special wood

Today started like any other day checking messages, conversations with customers boxing up some projects waiting for UPS to show up as I'm expecting 3 parcels.
Anyway I got a message from William @Got.... "Says out for delivery " see William sent me something, not knowing what it was, knowing we hadn't discussed another project, for the life of me had know idea what it was other than notification of 2 parcels in route 1 was 17# the other just under 4.5#.
Well my mind gets to wondering what could it be?
1 of his special cakes in a cooler with dry ice?
I can't count how many times I've asked him to send me 1 of them.
Then I get another message of him grinning asking if UPS made it yet."IMG958355(1).jpg"I think that's Whiskey in that glass!"
Knowing he's from Kentucky I kinda figured the smaller parcel was some good Kentucky Bourbon, boy was I mistaken, close but wrong.
This was a heartfelt gift from a great guy who does his level best to keep us all entertained whenever there's a live humor thread.
I don't know what to say other than thanks brother!!
Knowing for my love of Rye, I got the top off a whiskey keg from Bulleit a good Rye that truly punches above its weight.20240517_181916.jpgnext was the package that I initially thought was another project, I even questioned my UPS driver "you sure there's not a smaller box" Kevin assured me just the 3 boxes. My heart kinda sank thinking the whiskey didn't make it, or it got put on a different truck.
I knew Jeremy Smith had sent me 2 projects for a customer and I had 2 long 6x6 boxes, I grabbed the shortest of the 2 and was blown away.
What I unwrapped was far from a rifle stock, what I was holding in my hands was the baddest most awesomest piece of wood I ever held...
A chared stave from a whiskey barrel !! 20240517_181932.jpgLeft side has my Avitar Don't Tread on Me from our State Of Jefferson flag with my DBA.20240517_181942.jpg
Right side is straight from my profile and topped off with the AS logo.20240517_181950.jpg
Pretty special, guess it's time to reorganize the cave and get these hung up.
Thanks brother I love it.
Oh yeah mama still wants a cake!

Apple Juice, My Friends ! We are in Dallas for the NRA Annual Meetings & Exhibits.
Had supper at Terry Black’s BBQ last night; Beef Rib/Pork Rib, Brisket, Pintos w/cilantro, pulled pork/potato salad/green beans.
Extraordinarily delicious!

I'm starting to think this might actually be 1 of Williams humor threads, notice the big ol grin hes sportin in his pictures. Lol20240518_074104.jpgEverything needs to come out of the cave, main bench/desk needs to be turned 90° and moved across room.
Small dresser bench used for miscellaneous storage decaping moves to corner where spotting scope is so I can bring in a 5' butcher block bench that is almost a foot taller.
This bench will be used for my Benchsource annealer and PMA barrel vice and cleaning cradle.

Well, I did the whiskey and scrambled eggs, but did the Irish coffee
route.......I just did a one finger pour......""Tasty" LOL

Hey !! Did you try that Irish Red Breast 12 year old yet ?? Man, they
jumped the price from $59 to $72 bucks.......Ouch !!! No Bulliet Rye
