Some 7mm BR rifle stuff

So i 2 stepped the 6mm BR to 7mm with a sinclair 6.5 and 7mm expander. Trimmed and they are ready to go.

I'm reviewing some targets from the past. 100gr Sp and H322 worked very well. The 120 and 130 SP all worked well with ww748.

Quite a few powders show showed promise, like AR-Comp, H335 and maybe XBR8208. I was told not to hotrod the mini-mauser with it's tiny bolt lugs. The 120's at 2400 is my limit. 19" barrel was done by Wind River in Fla. Jim Anderson completed the rifle much later. Wind River is long gone.

Try the Speer 110 TNT and the 120 Ballistic Tip. They work well for me in my 7x47 Lapua.

Really enjoy my 7BR. Speer TNT does really well w/H322... Sub .5" 10 shot groups all day long. Got some better loads that I will look up tomorrow. Really enjoy my 7BR, disappointed that I will not be able to hunt antelope with it this year.

Barnes 120 TTSX also worked well with H322; sub 1\2" 10 shot groups as well. My load that I was going to use on Wyoming antelope was Berger 140 VLD Hunting w/H4895.

I shoot 168 grain VLDs in my 7x47 Lapua. There is data available for 180 hybrids in a 7x47L. I don’t think there is enough volume for the heavies to work in a 7 BR.

9 twist is good for my 7x47 L Might need 8 for the same bullets in a 7 BR.

I looked at a couple heavier than 140, but it seemed fruitless after plugging in the data to Quickload. Granted that I may have been limited by my powder selection of H322 and H4895; but the Berger 140 and H4895 took it close to max, while at the same time it delivered the ballistics I needed for 400 yards.

I also shot rams with 7tcu with 154 Hornaday backed by 3031. Very accurate, knocked them down with authority.

Anyone tried heavy bullets in 7 br?

I have a remington custom shop 40x from the early 90s. It is my favorite rifle. I actually came to this post searching for anything related to 7mm br. I have often wondered why no one made a legitimate benchrest gun from this cartridge. Anyway, I load 168 gr sierra bthp with 29 grains of 8208. Still tweaking the load but at 100 yards its less than .5 all day. This is from last weekend
