Some 204 Ruger questions.

What has been your longest 204 Ruger kill? Has anyone here tried the 45 gr sp Hornady factory load on coyotes or other mid sized predators? I am shooting a new Ruger M 77 MK II, found this rifle new in the box and got a great deal at only $475.00. It was a left over just sitting in its box in the gun dealers safe. I am going to scope it this weekend with a Weaver V series 4-16x42. Might swap out the trigger for a Timney or just have it worked over and see how it does.

My longest was with a factory Savage Model 12 VLP on a prairie dog at 566 yards. I'm shooting the Sierra 39 g blitzking.

Now that's some shot! Nice going! I have the 12 VLP in 22-250. Love that gun. No long range shots yet.

I have gotten slightly past 700 yards with my longest prairie dog kill. It was with a light and steady 5 mph x-wind, took 4 shots to walk it in and dope the wind before I connected. 39 gr blitzking over H4895 at 3,875 fps. This load is very consistent out to about 550 yards.
