JK Cloward built this about 35 years ago. It is unfired. My neighbor is a FFL so he can ship it and do all the legal things.

The scope is a Leopold 3.5-20 glossy
No dings, scratches, mars, dents,........just perfect, like new

JK Cloward won the 1976 International Palma Match & was the Armorer For the US Palma Team in 1980.

$4,000 +shipping

I know "everybody" wants a black rifle now, but walnut on blue is just pure beauty!

Thanks for using the pic my wife took. Jim won the Wimbledon Cup, not the International Palma match, and was the USPT armorer in late 90’s

John.......Thanks for the clarification. Here is some other info I copied off the web. Maybe it even came from you. I "think" Jim passed......but can find no obituary.

""""Jim Cloward Armorer James Cloward was born in the great state of Utah. He began logging at the age of 12 which began a career of recognizing great gun stock wood at an early age. Today he is one of the premier gunsmiths in the world. Jim's rifles have traveled to Africa, Asia, and all of North America to take big game of all species. In the process of designing and building big game rifles, Jim has built some of the best and most successful Target Rifles in the USA. His rifles have won numerous World and USA Championships. Jim's wife Annette and his son Erik have always supported him in his love for fine rifles and a good hunt. Jim is a Distinguish Rifleman and High Master shooter in both Long Range and USA across the course three position shooting."""""

Best.......Karl

I first met Jim when I was 12 (I’m 60 now) Both my dad and uncle were high power shooters. I got my first JK Cloward rifle when I was 14. I am honored to know him. The pic my wife took was of the last rifle Jim built for me. The last job he did was putting a new .30/06 barrel on, and refinishing the stock he made for me when I was 14.

Some of us are still holding out for finely figured Walnut. I have as many wood as everything else. Mostly OM 70's like this one, and 98 Mausers. I want a claw extractor on any rifle I take to Africa and Alaska. I have an aversion to being killed, and possibly eaten by something I hunt.

Beautiful wood and workmanship! It totally unfair that I do not own this rifle.

GLWS,

ISS

As I said above 'that's a rifleman's rifle'. Mr. Cloward was a true craftsman, he could do the metal work and the wood work. A true "gunsmith" not an assembler of a bunch of metal and plastic parts. His work was done in a time before 'set the CDC' dial, "it'll be fine". No it was "hand fitted" metal to metal and metal to wood. Then out to the range, and he could shoot it. From start to finish a "craftsman".

Did either of you know of Manley Oakley in Seattle? He and some friends were in the Corps in WWII. After the War they formed a shooting club called the "Puget Sound Snipers Congress" for BR matches. Imagine naming your gun club that today?!

It is probably a good thing I can't afford this rifle. I would be sorely tempted to rechamber to 6-284 and hunt Antelope with it.

That name "kinda" rings a bell. But the past is getting a little blurry.
