Soda Straw "Upgrade" for RCBS Chargemaster 1500

I was told of folks using a drinking straw to better control the over drop of some powders for there RCBS Chargemaster 1500's. I cannot remember how far if any the straw extended from the end of the dispensing tube and if it is supposed to slide in as far as the intake slot in the aluminum tube or just part way there . In short could some one who might have a clue to what I am asking walk me through this "soda straw update" ?

I use about 1" of McDonalds straw. It does not seem to make a difference if pushed in flush or sticks out .250.

Last load session 80 rds 3006 using 4064 only had 3 over charge. Straw flush.
